A Quieter Riot
Learned today that Kevin Dubrow, the singer from 80s metal band Quiet Riot, died earlier today.
Best remembered for the Slade cover, Cum On Feel the Noize, Quiet Riot really broke metal in the mainstream back in 1983. Depending on how you feel they should be congratulated or condemned for the rise of 80s hair metal. An example of their mainstream acceptance was the appearance (which I remember) on the US music show, Solid Gold which was hosted by Dionne Warwick.
I have fond memories of listening to Quiet Riot in the mid 80s at high school. Sure, it was dumb but it was loud and above all fun.
Remember metal health will drive you mad. So bang your head and cum on feel the noize. And girlz, rock your boyz.
